We offer four tours daily during the summer season. 10am, 12noon, 2pm and 4pm. Charter service tours available by request. Each tour is usually less than 2 hours in duration, and whales are guaranteed every trip.

Whale Tour prices around Nova Scotia can cost up to $75 per seat. The cost of reserved seats aboard Fiddlin Whale Tours ranges from $20 for young children under 10 to $40 for first class seats enabling the best possible photo opportunities. Musicians, especially violinists who share their musical talents, receive preferred discounts. Many of our local tourism industry partners share packages which result in discounts of up to 25%. Group and family discounts are always negotiable. Seniors and veterans are respected with reduced fares (upon request). Reserve now.

These magnificant creatures co-exist in a rich local marine environment along with lobster, snow crab, cod fish, mackerel and herring (which the whales like to eat), in the "crystal clear" ocean waters around Pleasant Bay.

The Captain and crew maintain constant visual contact and radio communication with other local marine traffic (lobster fishers, private boats and the emergency response team). They rarely have to travel more than a mile or so from shore to be with the whales - and most days they see whales from the land before leaving port!

Whales and music! Have we developed a way to communicate with our fellow mammals? Yipper! And what a blast! Observe for yourself how various notes and pitches of the fiddle resemble whale echo-location.

Throughout the summer conditions on the water are ideal for whale watching. In calm weather we frequently shut the motor down and just enjoy the majestic beauty and tranquility of it all...and of course the fiddle music! When this happens, pods of curious whales often approach the boat and the luring sounds of the fiddle. It's astonishing ....and perfectly safe!

For your added enjoyment, the vessel is equipped with an underwater listening device known as a "hydrophone" for listening to the whales. You will be fascinated by the sounds of this "inter-species" communication, as the response from the whales is transmitted through our hydrophone. That's right folks, when conditions are suitable...... we listen to the whales "singing".

The whales frequently stay beside the vessel until their curiosity is satsfied. As Captain Stan says "It is truly an amazing phenomenon of nature to listen and witness this social interaction betweeen humans and whales".

Our renowned reputation has grown as a result of this excellence and service. This outstanding success as a leading whale tour provider in Nova Scotia has created such customer demand that we were required to expand our operation in 2006. As a result we launched the Keltic Express - a unique and exclusive Zodiac Adventure tour out of Ingonish, on the north-eastern side of Cape Breton Island.
